SOLILOQUY

Soliloquio is an artist’s book by Alessandro Vascotto, with a critical contribution by Alessandra Galasso, published by Prologo. The project stems from an investigation into the deconstruction of visual language, through the recombination of photography, colour, and text.

Images and textual fragments are isolated, deconstructed, and brought into relation with one another, generating new meanings through associations, overlaps, and semantic shifts. The book thus develops a visual language based on the contamination and recombination of codes, anticipating, in certain respects, forms of communication that would later become characteristic of contemporary visual culture.
