I was born in Trieste in 1968 and graduated in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. During my studies, I had the opportunity to engage with figures such as Gherardo Pittarello, Angelo Schwarz, Ennio Chiggio, Alberto Lolli, Sandro Sproccati and Riziero Giunti. With the latter, I participated twice in the Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris.
After graduating, I began working in the field of visual communication, initially as an illustrator and graphic designer and later as a creative director. In 1994, I met Pino Usicco, with whom I collaborated between Treviso and Venice, developing projects in graphic design, furniture design and lighting design.
I worked for various communication agencies and graphic design studios in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto.
In 2000, I started my first independent practice, focusing on communication while simultaneously developing research in the fields of design and visual art.
At the same time, I developed artistic projects in collaboration with cultural, artistic and theatrical organisations, including Laboratorio P at the former OPP psychiatric hospital in Trieste, Teatro Velemir, Accademia della Follia and Gruppo 78.
As part of my artistic research, I have created several editorial projects and artists’ books, including Parole in tuffo, created with Angela Pianca, Claudio Misculin and Mirella Pagin; Soliloquio, with critical contributions by Alessandra Galasso; and Il raglio dell’asino, created together with Enzo Navarra.
I regularly exhibit in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember.
For me, drawing means transforming thoughts into images: it is an ideal bridge that gives form to dreams and ideas, allowing them to be expressed and shared.
Only afterwards come the tools: pencil, text, computer, graphic design, photography, video and illustration. They are all means that, depending on the context, become the most appropriate languages for achieving a specific goal, through a particular visual or narrative approach.
Having returned to freelance practice, I continue to pursue my artistic research alongside my work as an art director and graphic designer and my teaching at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Udine. I regularly exhibit in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally.
