On Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 6:30 PM, the exhibition 2050 – SUBMERGED HORIZONS will open at Portopiccolo Art Gallery, Sistiana. Curated by Sergio Pancaldi (DayDreaming Project), the exhibition features artistic contributions by Gabriele Bonato, Enrico Tuzzi, and Alessandro Vascotto.

The exhibition is presented as part of the L’Energia dei Luoghi 2026 programme.

2050.
A deadline. A critical vantage point from which to observe the present and the transformations reshaping the relationship between landscape, climate, territory, and communities.

Conceived from a climate hypothesis and serving as a prelude to the project’s further development, the exhibition inaugurates a research journey that brings together different perspectives, interpreting the present as a future memory.

The works of Gabriele Bonato, Enrico Tuzzi, and Alessandro Vascotto do not offer dystopian visions of tomorrow; rather, they capture the signals of change that are already underway.

Water, borders, infrastructures, and transforming landscapes become tools for reflecting on how territories are changing—and on the ways in which we inhabit and imagine them.

2050 is both a destination and a method: an open platform that, over the coming months, will build an archive of works and reflections devoted to the transformations of the contemporary landscape.

On 25 February at 5:00 p.m., M-ARTE SPACE in Trieste will host The Rebirth of the Human II, the second event in a series exploring the regenerative power of poetic language. The video-poetic-musical performance, curated by Nuove Notturne, interweaves readings by Anna Akhmatova and Arseny Tarkovsky with original texts and contemporary contributions by Federica D’Oria, Pavel Berdon, the Le Ombre Association with Desto o son sogno, and Quadrato Culturale Tetriss, creating an intense dialogue between memory and the present.

The words will merge with the sounds of Samuel Codarin, who will accompany the event with layered soundscapes ranging from electronic synthesis to frippertronics. Sound becomes an integral part of the narrative, amplifying emotions and visual suggestions in an immersive experience where “we read poems, they may save us” becomes a collective statement.

The evening is part of a broader exhibition project: Alessandro Vascotto’s exhibition Geosuture has been extended, presenting a visual investigation into the themes of wounding and mending, between intimate and collective geography. Also scheduled is a screening of the video In darkness, we grow, created by Alessandro Vascotto and Aldevis Tibaldi, a work that explores darkness as a generative space.

M-ARTE SPACE is located in Pavilion M of the former psychiatric hospital, within the San Giovanni Cultural Park, a symbolic site of the transformation set in motion by the Basaglia revolution. Here, the M-ARTE collective brings together artists, cultural workers, and associations that promote culture and mental health as shared practices, keeping alive a space for encounter, experimentation, and openness to the city.
